RING OF FIRE Announce New Keyboardist, Record Label
July 8, 2003RING OF FIRE, the new band led by former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN singer Mark Boals, have added keyboardist Steve Weingart to the group's lineup. "[Steve] is very well-known here in Los Angeles and elsewhere as a classically-trained killer genius on piano, synth, and organ with lightning fast fingers and amazing sounds!" writes Boals on the band's official web site.
"It took a long time to decide from so many, many great musicians who wanted the job. (Thanks so much to all the talented keyboardists who sent us their CD's, etc!!!!) It was very difficult to choose just one when we heard them all play so very good, but when we heard Steve, we knew he was the one! The chemistry of the band is perfect now, and we are all so exited about making the new album!"
In other news, RING OF FIRE have parted ways with their Japanese label, Marquee/Avalon, and have signed a new deal with King Records.
"We had a good run with Marquee Inc., but we felt that the timing was right to make a fresh start with our new album and new line-up," says Boals. "King Records and I will issue an official press release shortly."
RING OF FIRE's follow-up to 2002's "Dreamtower" is tentatively due in early 2004.
